Tortoiseshell, Domestic Shorthair
Susan wears charming little white socks on her left front paw. Petite and an outspoken like her namesake Susan B. Anthony, little Susan is always ready to tell you what she thinks. Her tiny but purposeful meow give her a special charm. Flirtatious, she curls up in her bed, reaches out with her front paws and mews softly, asking for you to gently stroke her pretty head. She will literally turn upside down to ask you for a stroke!
Susan lost her caretaker in 2014 and spent the hard winter months out in the cold. That was scary and stressful for a little kitty who considers herself a house cat. She now firmly believes in cats’ rights: to stay warm in a cozy bed, with one’s favorite food and nice people around to converse with and pet you.
Today her food of choice is KD dry and a little wet food — the doc’ recommends those for her kidneys. Her fur has become soft and sleek. She enjoys being brushed, and loves to be petted. Her teeth and gums are better now that she has had all her teeth removed. This does not slow down her eating at all, by the way.
Susan’s ears don’t work as well as they used to, but she is alert, intelligent, agile, cheerful, and has good vision. She will probably become comfortable with other friendly cats as she lived in a household with several and lost her lifelong buddy Black Beauty when she came to live in her foster home.
